The Bridal Shower
The Dutch are famous for a wedding tradition that is known all over the world called the “Bridal Shower”. If a bride’s father did not approve of her daughter’s selection of husband, he would not pay the dowry. So the bride could still marry without her father’s support her friends would shower her with gifts and money.
